Understanding Truth

“Every word of God proves true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” Proverbs 30:5 ESV

God is the Bedrock, the Foundation, the Possessor, the Absolute, and the Declarer of all Truth. There is no Truth without God. For God alone is Truth. Therefore, what He declares is, is in fact as it is, despite how we feel or think.

God is the God of Truth. In Him there is no falsity or deception. In God alone comes all Truth. He is the Bedrock, the Foundation, the Possessor, the Absolute, and the Declarer of all Truth. There is no Truth without God. For God alone is Truth. Therefore, what He declares is, is in fact as it is, despite how we feel or think.

Whatever God speaks, is what comes to be. Without God initially creating that which is, we could not even have the ability to push back against what actually is. No matter what it is (whether moral truths, mathematical truths, truths about who we are and our identity of how we were created), these things cannot be changed, though they can be perverted.

This is the reality of Truth. Truth remains as it is. Nothing can bend or break it. The only thing that can be done is not by way of dismantling what truth is, but destroying the perception others have of truth. An example would be a man thinking they are a woman. This, clearly, goes against the reality and truth that the man is in fact a man. It does not matter what he thinks.

When we seek to adjust the Truth, the Truth remains as it is, even when our perceptions differ and our wants seek to override what actually is.

The truth of what the man is remains as it is, so long as God is. God does not make mistakes or errors. He is not the author of confusion but the Author of Order. When we seek to adjust the Truth, the Truth remains as it is, even when our perceptions differ and our wants seek to override what actually is.

This is why Jeremiah 17:9-10 (NKJV) declares ““The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.””

Of course, in the pushback of convicting statements, there is always, “You are a bigot. You hate (fill in the blank). You don’t say anything about (fill in the blank).” The example given about gender fluidity is just that, an example. Of course, men lie, cheat, and sin in all realms.

Some say, “my wife is too strict, I deserve to have an affair (oh how we change the phraseology to a 'kinder' way of what it actually is - ADULTERY). Others might say “it is healthy for me to masterbate. I need to do so in order to get a release.” Some say “I can watch pornography. It’s not like it’s hurting anybody.” Some might declare, “well, it’s tough in the economy right now and I need to feed my kids. It’s okay to say partial lies to future clients to get the sale.” Others might find themselves in the state of “I deserve to not have to work. The government should provide all of my needs.”

Those who push back on a message against sin are those who are living either in sin or deception. Instead of listening to the conviction of Truth, they harbor within them a continued lie. They desire to be led by their feelings. Their emotions are the compass behind everything they do, rather than it being the bedrock of Truth.

In the midst of this world there are a multitude of sins that branch off from overarching themes. It is important to know that just because someone specifically speaks on one sin as being sin does not mean they hate the people within that category; nor do they justify themselves as better (we are speaking of those who are truly born again and possess the Spirit of God). Those who push back on a message against sin are those who are living either in sin or deception. Instead of listening to the conviction of Truth, they harbor within them a continued lie. They desire to be led by their feelings. Their emotions are the compass behind everything they do, rather than it being the bedrock of Truth.

WE CANNOT TRUST OURSELVES

Many think they have the right or confidence in believing what they think is right or true, as opposed to seeing things the way that they truly are.

Our emotions are always wavering. We quickly become disrupted or perturbed by what others say. Our perceptions of others quickly take different views based upon what they do to us. Yet, somehow, in knowing this, we still choose to believe ourselves and our ways. We think that we have the right or confidence in believing what we think is right or true, as opposed to seeing things the way that they truly are.

Reality demands that we take it seriously, lest we begin to believe that we can be whatever we want, that nothing really matters, that everything is relative and based upon what we think, and that we can do as we desire because “we have the right.”

DISMANTLING DECEPTIVE VIEWS

When it comes to Truth, there is no such thing as “everyone has their own truth”. For if one religion believes that there is a Heaven and Hell, and the other believes in reincarnation, then both cannot be true.

This is a logical fallacy. Clearly, one has to be correct. This view that we have just mentioned comes from Pluralists who say that “all views can be true.” Such a state is wielded by those who are not concrete in anything. Their viewpoint is as a feather in the wind or as a boat without oars in the middle of raging waves.

We may quickly debunk the Pluralist view by understanding that all views simply cannot be true because the opposite of “all views being true” in fact cannot be true. If “all views cannot be true” is not true, then why make the claim in the first place? It is arguing in a circle.

Secondly, we live in a generation that suffers from Relativists. They are those who say “there is no such thing as absolute truth.” This, again, is a self-defeating claim. The very statement argues against itself. If someone states “there is no such thing as absolute truth”, we can quickly reply with, “is that true?”

This viewpoint says that there are no truths out there, while at the same time believing that the statement of “there is no absolute truth” is true. It, once again, is arguing in a circle.

THE ENEMIES OF TRUTH

“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44 ESV

There is no truth in Satan. Though he is one entity, his legions are many. Within our space-time continuum, we are a dimension residing within a dimension. For the spiritual dimension around us is beyond what we can see, though it is something we are influenced by.

Just as God’s miracles can occur in life and go against the natural ways of our dimension, so the Enemy can go against what is Truth and whisper lies to us. He can either bog down the true born again believer with lies that “God does not love us” or “how can we call ourselves a Christian” during the times we fall. To those who are not born again, he will whisper “did God really say...?”

Everything the Enemy does ends with a comma or question mark. There is no truth in the Enemy. Whatever we choose to believe based upon how we feel has been influenced either by our carnal nature of suppressing the truth, or the Enemy whispering lies and thoughts against God and the way in which He has ordered things to be.

Whatever we choose to believe based upon how we feel has been influenced either by our carnal nature of suppressing the truth, or the Enemy whispering lies and thoughts against God and the way in which He has ordered things to be.

For naturally, we don’t want to bend our knee to the will of another. We don’t want to submit and surrender all. We think that we have full authority and autonomy to do as we please. The freedom we have is led by the wickedness within, and we drift further and further from what actually is.

Anyone who seeks to evolve morality has lost touch with reality.

We begin to question and go against what God has declared. As time goes on, despite the Bible standing the test of time, we seek to revolutionize how things are done. We see morality as something that can be evolved, when in actuality, it cannot. For anyone who seeks to evolve morality has lost touch with reality.

Morality is not that which is the same as mechanics or machinery. Morality possesses deliberate, absolute truths of what is good and what is evil; what is right and what is wrong; what is of God and what is sin. The Enemy, however, will enhance the flirtation of our own self-love and desire to be as god. He will pose questions that we, through our freewill, begin to entertain.

The more we entertain, the more we exercise. As we exercise the entertainment of deceptive thinking, our conscience becomes darkened. We are unable to see the Light because we have deliberately neglected it from shining forth.

The more we entertain, the more we exercise. As we exercise the entertainment of deceptive thinking, our conscience becomes darkened. We are unable to see the Light because we have deliberately neglected it from shining forth. We suppress the Light because we do not want to be exposed and change. Rather than facing the Light with boldness and humility, we allow pride and arrogance to interfere with reality. We begin to develop our own systems and, in doing so, heap upon ourselves swift destruction.

Romans 3:10-18 (NKJV) declares:

“As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” “Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”; “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.””

WHY PEOPLE REJECT TRUTH?

“And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:” John 16:8 NKJV

Look upon all the people you know and what is a common thread amongst many of them? Lethargy and a state of remaining as one is. Very few people desire to change. Those who do want to change, tend to do so in the wrong manifestation. The pull to change is typically focused on externals. They want to change their skin color, gender, etc. They want to be someone who they were not created to be.

Some want to change the mindsets of others to conform to their agenda and accept the falsity that they desire to bring out. All these changes have damaging effects that are not considered in the short-term. The long-term ramifications of those who seek to change from that which actually is will suffer from their own wrong-doing or the fulfillment of desires that should not be sought after.

Other changes involve a desire to change the laws around them to fit their needs.

People who seek to change in the wrong manifestation are those who remain idle and in a state of spiritual lethargy. They want the world around them to be as they desire it to be perceived. They seek the fulfillment of what they want through any means. Sadly, this change is one that is leading them further from the Truth. The loss of reality is a devastation that many do not realize until it is too late.

They seek the fulfillment of what they want through any means. Sadly, this change is one that is leading them further from the Truth. The loss of reality is a devastation that many do not realize until it is too late.

The other form of change which so few desire are those who want to be conformed to the Truth of God’s Word and what He has declared. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2 NKJV).

The reason many reject Truth is they fear change, they are too lazy to change, they are not courageous enough to heed the call to change, they are too sensitive to the tougher truths, or they lack humility to think that Someone outside themselves has ordered and created things just as He saw fit. The sad irony in those who reject truth is they fill themselves and their lives with more devastation and pain.

If we are not being changed and transformed by God and His Word, then we are being conformed into the image of this world and our own pursuits.

Frank Turek once eloquently said, “Our rejection of religious and moral truth is often on volitional rather than intellectual grounds - we just don’t want to be held accountable to any moral standards or religious doctrine. So we blindly accept the self-defeating truth claims of politically correct intellectuals who tell us that truth does not exist; everything is relative; there are no absolutes; it’s all a matter of opinion; you ought not judge; religion is about faith, not facts!”

Those who are liberated by Him Who is Truth are willing to be convicted of their sin. They are willing to allow the blow of God’s discipline (which is always done in love) to have its full effect. This, in return, makes people find true peace and joy, which is only found in God.

Very few are willing to be liberated by THEE TRUTH. Too many want to create “their own truth” to live how they want without any repercussions, challenges, or rebuke. Those, however, who are liberated by Him Who is Truth are willing to be convicted of their sin. They are willing to allow the blow of God’s discipline (which is always done in love) to have its full effect. This, in return, makes people find true peace and joy, which is only found in God.

Those who continually reject Truth, reject God. Those who reject God, live a life of discontentment, dissatisfaction, and unfulfillment.

Those, however, who continually reject Truth, reject God. Those who reject God, live a life of discontentment, dissatisfaction, and unfulfillment. Even in the midst of their temporal fulfillment, they are not satisfied. For one can be filled with something but never have enough. This is what a glutton is to food or a swindler is with money. This is what an addict is to drugs and sex, and what an alcoholic is to drink. They fill themselves with that which does not satisfy.

Those who want nothing to do with God will continue to lull themselves into a spiritual slumber where they rest in their iniquity and cease from hearing any call to change.

With those who want nothing to do with God (not those who desire to escape their problem and addiction but don’t know how), they continue to lull themselves into a spiritual slumber where they rest in their iniquity and cease from hearing any call to change.

Romans 1:18-25 (NKJV) speaks clearly on the matter of those who reject the Truth and want nothing to do with God:

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”

WHO IS TRUTH?

“Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”” John 14:6 NKJV

All things have a beginning. Life did not merely originate by chance or necessity. Mathematical truths are not something that have existed forever on the basis of themselves. Humans did not become humans by odds that are entirely disproportionate to reality. All things, no matter what it is, whether physical, metaphysical, or spiritual, had a beginning. Whatever we see or come to understand did not merely become as it is without a beginning. All things have a start from Him Who is the Unbegotten Beginning and Endless End.

The Eternal One, the Trinity, is God Almighty, Who is the Alpha and Omega. He Himself is Truth. What He does is Truth. What He declares is Truth. There is no shadow or variation in Him due to change (James 1:17). There is no lie or deceit. There is no error or falsity. God is Truth. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. All that is has come from Him.

Romans 11:33-36 (NKJV) declares, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?” “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.”

We know that “The sum of Your Word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever” (Psalm 119:160 ESV). “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him Who is true; and we are in Him Who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life” (1 John 5:20 NKJV).

HOW WE UNDERSTAND TRUTH

“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” Psalm 145:18 ESV

Many people call on God, but not in Truth. There is a hidden agenda behind their call. They desire power or seek that God would not only come down to their level but agree with their plans. In failing to understanding God as the bedrock of Truth, man seeks to make God accept “their truth”.

Many people call on God, but not in Truth. There is a hidden agenda behind their call. They desire power or seek that God would not only come down to their level but agree with their plans. In failing to understanding God as the bedrock of Truth, man seeks to make God accept “their truth”.

The only way that we can come to understand Him Who is Truth and Him Who has created all truths is by drawing near to Him. The Holy Spirit must first draw us to think upon the deeper things of life, Truth, and God. Once this occurs, we have the freedom to either respond to the call or reject the call.

Of course, there are some who are “always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Timothy 3:7 NKJV). Why? Because they are unwilling to lay down what God is telling them to lay down. Due to this neglect, they draw close for insight, but not in surrender. They acquire knowledge about God, but not God Himself. They fail to receive the Holy Spirit because there is no humility to accept that God is in the right and we are in the wrong.

We can only understand Truth when the Holy Spirit resides within us. If He does not, then we will continually combat the Scriptures. We will have a low view of God that will direct our ways into thinking the Bible is in the wrong and we are in the right. We will make every excuse against God and His Word, rather than accepting it by faith and understanding it through child-like faith as we are led by the Holy Spirit.

“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His Own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come” (John 16:13 ESV). We can only think on Him Who is Truth by the Holy Spirit drawing us.

WORSHIPING GOD IN TRUTH

Those who do not have the Holy Spirit are unable to worship God. For “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24 ESV). Many people think they understand God by emotional drawn up experiences. They believe religious practices save them. Some even think that belief without repentance is enough. This is mistaken and goes against the call of God. If we are to worship God and truly know Him, we must worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

In order to worship Him in Spirit, we must have the Holy Spirit residing within. Our personality and present persona within our disposition of worship must be led and directed by the Holy Spirit. If it is not, we merely remain as a heathen appearing righteous before men, while our hearts remain darkened before God. For just as God warned Samuel, ““For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart”” (1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV).

Something can be deemed as worship from externals that are led by the will of the soul. However, if the Spirit is not in our worship, it is vanity. It is to appear righteous before a crowd, without actually worshipping God merely for Who He is and not caring about what others think. This does not come in loud singing and raising of hands (though, it can from genuine born-again believers). Sometimes those who are quiet and more reserved in their corporate worship know God the most, while self-led pressures come upon others and they feel the need to “prove themselves”.

The other part of proper worship comes by way of Truth. Someone can worship a false idol, but that is not truthful worship. They may truly worship that idol, but if the worship is not led by truth and towards Him Who is Truth, then it is deceptive. It is nothing but delusion and fantasy. Someone can worship something without that thing being the Truth. In doing so, worship becomes vanity.

How might we worship God in Truth? We do so according to His Word. Without His Word, we have no basis for Truth. We could make things up as we go along. We could do what we think is right. We could make arguments and suggest certain ways. Of course, we need not partake in such things.

For God has shown us the way of worshiping Him in Truth. Those who want to create their own form of worship that is not done in Truth shall receive that which they have created for themselves. In seeking to build something, they receive nothing. For God does not hear the worship of those who do not worship Him, directly, or are unwilling to worship Him according to His Word, through obedience, humility, and love.

DECEPTIVE DISPOSITIONS

“If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.” 1 John 1:6 NKJV

Many claim they fellowship with and know God, without possessing God within. They are possessed by a different spirit, rather than the Holy Spirit. For the ways in which they walk, the lifestyles they live, the sin they are unwilling to lay down would otherwise be confronted, convicted, and changed by the Holy Spirit.

For the ways in which they walk, the lifestyles they live, the sin they are unwilling to lay down would otherwise be confronted, convicted, and changed by the Holy Spirit.

Anyone who suppresses the Truth of what God has both declared and revealed is afraid of change.

For if God is for us, then He will not allow us to continue in the ways in which He has clearly revealed we should not go. Anyone who suppresses the Truth of what God has both declared and revealed is afraid of change. They are stubborn and unwilling to hear feedback that is for their best interest. Their deceptive disposition is that “I can live how I choose. I can do as I please, and God will always accept me.”

If there is no change, it is doubtful a person is saved. For God does not allow us to sit in our iniquity without remorse. Those who truly know God have lamented and weeped over their sin. Their bitter tears from their own wrongdoing proves that they have truly understood that THEY are the reason Christ went to the Cross.

This is a deceptive mindset that many are living. Many think they know God because of what they do, without seeing who they are becoming. We are guilty of sending Christ there because we are sinners. Had we not been sinners, Christ never would have had to go to the Cross.

Some are merely acknowledgers of the Truth, but not practicers of the Truth. They believe that acknowledgement is enough. However, this is not the way of Christ. For the Lord Jesus demands of us that ““If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me”” (Luke 9:23 NKJV).

As Paul declares, “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons” (1 Corinthians 10:21 NKJV).

Denying self is to deny sin. It is to cease from both the desire to walk in darkness and excuse one’s lifestyle. Denying oneself takes humility to not allow self-deception to override the Truth of what God has both declared and demands of us.

THE DANGER OF NOT WALKING IN TRUTH

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.” Romans 1:18 ESV

God does not create someone to merely damn them. Man is responsible for ultimately sending themselves to Hell, though God is the one who initially sends them. For God merely fulfills their desire of suppressing the Truth and not wanting to know Him.

Those who do not walk in Truth store up the wrath of God upon themselves. God does not create someone to merely damn them. Man is responsible for ultimately sending themselves to Hell, though God is the one who initially sends them. For God merely fulfills their desire of suppressing the Truth and not wanting to know Him.

For anyone who suppresses the Truth, suppresses God. Just as anyone who neglects Holiness, rejects Him Who is Holy. God is the Ground of all that He is. He is Perfection. He is Grace. He is Love. He is Holy. He is Wisdom. He is Just. He is Truth. Anyone who neglects these things and suppresses them, suppresses God. For these things not only come from God, but are God.

Those who suppress Truth, suppress God. They don’t want to live according to reality. Instead, they want to build the walls of their own utopia. They want the things of God to be moved in such a way that fits and fulfills all their wishes, passions, desires, and needs.

When we negate the willingness to be confronted by the Truth, we become suppressors of the Truth. This, in return, brings forth God’s wrath.

As Francis Schaeffer once said, “Truth always carries with it confrontation. Truth demands confrontation; loving confrontation nevertheless. If our reflex action is always accommodation regardless of the centrality of the truth involved, there is something wrong.” When we negate the willingness to be confronted by the Truth, we become suppressors of the Truth. This, in return, brings forth God’s wrath.

For God is a Being Who is worthy of worship. He does not force others to worship Him, but those who do accept that He is Who He has declared Himself to be and Who He has revealed Himself to be through Christ, will be saved. God’s wrath is what harbors in the shadow of His love. He does all with love. If the desire to not listen to Him (Who has given us all things) continues on, then God’s wrath comes forth.

To know Truth is of the utmost importance and one of the greatest beauties. For Truth does not bend and yield. Truth can never change. What God has declared is, is as it is, so long as God is Who God is.

To know Truth is of the utmost importance and one of the greatest beauties. For Truth does not bend and yield. Truth can never change. What God has declared is, is as it is, so long as God is Who God is. This is why knowing Truth is such a blessing. For when we know Truth, we can be changed in light of Truth. “Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth” (John 17:17 ESV).

When we come to know the Truth of God and His Word, we can be sanctified and changed. For those who grow closer to Him in Truth become greater vessels of Light. They reflect the rays of the Son. They become consecrated and set apart from the world. They no longer are dwelling in darkness, but know the Light. Not only do they know the Light, but they become pursuers of the Light. For to see is one thing, but to continually move closer and in the direction of what we see brings forth greater glory, awe, and wonder.

Therefore, we can not only be changed by Light of Truth, but we can walk in Truth.

WALKING IN TRUTH

“Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” Psalm 25:5 ESV

There is only one way, and that is God’s Way. There is only one Truth, and that is God’s Truth. There is only One Who is Truth, and that is God Himself.

There is only one way, and that is God’s Way. There is only one Truth, and that is God’s Truth. There is only One Who is Truth, and that is God Himself. People may feel uncomfortable by the Truth. They may squeal and squirm. They may deny and reject the Truth. They may slip further and further into a state of darkened despair by their own unwillingness to accept the Truth. This is a grave error, but is one in which many go.

Those of us who have the Truth must continue our walk in Truth. For true conversion is not a one time event where we do nothing moving forward. We must continue to press on and press into Truth.

Those of us, however, who desire Truth, have been presented Truth, found Truth, and have Him Who is Truth residing within. Those of us who have the Truth must continue our walk in Truth. For true conversion is not a one time event where we do nothing moving forward. We must continue to press on and press into Truth. God will reveal to us deeper Truths about Him and the way in which things are. He will bless us with deeper revelations.

If God is a consuming fire, we must fan the flame of our desire to know Him more. For we are all a flame within His Divine fire. When we become part of God’s family, we are no longer children of darkness but of the Light. For just as Ephesians 5:8-14 (NKJV) says:

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.””

We who are born-again and have believed in Christ and repented of our sins are promised that ““the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:17 NKJV).

All things must be held up by the belt of Truth, lest everything else fall and fail and not be held in the way that it should.

May we “Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness” (Ephesians 6:14 ESV). All things must be held up by the belt of Truth, lest everything else fall and fail and not be held in the way that it should.

This world may experience a sample of love "on its own", but true, everlasting, fulfilling, eternal, uncorrupted love is found in Truth, and Truth is both God and comes from God.

May we learn to “not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth” (1 John 3:18 ESV). For if we walk in truth, then our actions and speech shall be done in true, Biblical love. For this world may experience a sample of love "on its own", but true, everlasting, fulfilling, eternal, uncorrupted love is found in Truth, and Truth is both God and comes from God.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15 ESV).

PRAYER

O God of Truth, Who formed all things in the way that they are, Who declared the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning, Who is High and Lifted Up, Who inhabits eternity and Whose name is Holy, we give You praise. God, keep us from the Evil One and our carnal ways. Protect us from ourselves and from the deceptions of this world. O God, we depend upon You as our Provider, Protector, and our Sustenance. Without You, we have nothing. Without Your Word, we cannot trust anything. O God, may we never lean on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge You! For You are Truth and Love. You are the Light of Holiness. O God, bless us with Thy Heavenly touch. Change us and renew us. Sanctify us and restore us. We trust in Christ as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We acknowledge we are sinners before You. O God, have Your way in us. Convict us with Thy Truth in love. Change us by Your Spirit. May He forever guide and lead us upon still waters as we live in the reality of what is, not what we want things to be. We surrender our all to You, knowing You have a perfect plan, purpose, and reason behind all things. O God of Truth, be our Advocate, Helper, and Compass until we are called Home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
